Overview
The Solar Powered Drip Irrigation System delivers automatic timed drip watering using a 4W solar panel with battery backup and no mains wiring.
Set the system up by placing the drippers at the base of each plant and arranging the tubing layout to suit your beds, pots or planters. With a solar panel supply and built-in battery support, it’s designed to run on timed watering cycles without the need for mains wiring.

Why Choose Drip Irrigation?
Drip irrigation is often preferred when plants benefit from steady,
localized watering. By delivering moisture directly at the base of each
plant, drip systems can help reduce evaporation, limit surface wetting,
and support efficient water use in growing areas.
Water Efficiency
Delivers water directly to the root zone
Helps reduce evaporation losses
Supports controlled daily watering
Cleaner Soil Surface
Less moisture spread across open soil
Can help reduce weed growth
Minimises splash-related disease risk
Where It Works Best
Plant Beds & Vegetable Rows
Irrigating coverage: 10 to 20 m²
Ideal for steady root moisture
Supports everyday plant growth
Greenhouses & Balcony Planters
Suitable for pots and compact setups
Helps maintain consistent watering
Configurable tubing layout
Solar Operation Notes
Output varies with available sunlight. On brighter days the battery can
recharge more effectively, while extended low-light periods may reduce
recharge performance. Battery support helps maintain timed operation when
sunlight is limited.
See It In Action
This video shows the drip irrigation system layout and how watering is
delivered through the connected drippers.
Install the system by mounting the solar panel, positioning the control box
near your water supply, then routing the tubing and drippers across your
growing area.
Step 1: Mount The Solar Panel
Place in strong, direct sunlight
Connect via the DC12V input port
Angle for best daily exposure
Step 2: Install The Control Box
Mount within 2 m of water level
Indicator lights show charging status
Connect inlet and outlet securely
Step 3: Position Water Level Sensor
Fit detector near inlet filter point
Supports low-water alarm protection
Helps prevent pump run-dry issues
Step 4: Connect Tubing & Drippers
Attach tubing to the outlet port
Insert siphon breaker in main line
Use tees to connect drip heads
Step 5: Set Watering Mode
Use mode button to choose duration
Range: 0.5 minutes up to 8 minutes
Test mode confirms correct flow
Step 6: Run A System Test
Confirm indicator lights operate
Check steady drip from all heads
Adjust layout if required
Always refer to the supplied user manual for any manufacturer-specific
guidance before long-term operation.
The solar panel powers the system and recharges the battery. The control box
runs timed watering cycles, feeding water through the tubing network and
delivering drip irrigation directly to each plant.
Solar Power Supply
Runs directly from daylight conditions
Recharge varies depending on sunlight
No mains electricity required
Battery Backup Support
Helps operation during lower light
Recharges automatically in sunshine
Supports timed watering cycles
Timed Drip Control
Adjust watering via mode selection
0.5 to 8 minute cycle duration range
Test mode confirms correct delivery
Water Level Protection
Low-water alarm helps protect the pump
Sensor monitors inlet supply levels
Designed for reliable daily use
This combination of solar charging, adjustable timing and localized drip
delivery makes the system a practical solution for automated plant care.
Up to 21.3 litres per day across all 50 drippers — about 0.67 litres per dripper per day at the longest cycle setting. Watering cycles can be set anywhere from 30 seconds to 8 minutes, so you can dial back delivery for less thirsty plants or step it up in hot weather. The 100 LPH max pump flow rate is plenty for a 10-20 m² growing area.
What size growing area does this cover?
10 to 20 m² with the 50 drippers supplied. The 9-metre main hose (2m + 7m) and 48m of 4mm branch hose give you plenty of layout flexibility — vegetable beds, raised planters, polytunnel rows, balcony pots. Each dripper sits at the base of one plant for direct root delivery rather than spraying water across the soil surface.
Will it keep watering during a few cloudy days?
The built-in 7.2V 1500mAh Ni-MH battery stores charge from sunny days to keep timed cycles running through cloud. Extended low-light periods (multiple grey days in a row) will reduce performance as the battery isn't fully recharging — you might see fewer or shorter cycles until the sun returns. Position the 4W panel where it gets the strongest available daylight to maximise the buffer.
How many plants can this water and what area does it cover?
The kit includes 50 drippers and is designed for an irrigating area of 10 to 20 m², suitable for plant beds, vegetable rows, greenhouses or balcony planters. Each dripper delivers up to 0.67 litres per day, giving a maximum total of 21.3 litres per day across all 50 outlets. Note: a minimum of 20 drippers must be used to avoid over-pressure issues.
How long is the tubing and can I extend it if my water source is far away?
The kit ships with 9 m of 8 mm main hose (a 2 m section plus a 7 m section) and 48 m of 4 mm branch hose. The system runs at up to 60 PSI, so any extension must be pressure-rated irrigation tubing — standard low-pressure pond-pump tubing is not suitable. For longer runs, source additional 8 mm pressure-rated tubing from a garden centre.
How is the watering schedule controlled and how long is each cycle?
The control box runs timed watering cycles automatically — typically twice daily — with adjustable duration selected via the mode button. Each cycle can be set between 0.5 and 8 minutes, and a test mode is included to confirm correct flow from all drip heads before leaving the system to run. The 7.2V/1500 mAh Ni-MH battery keeps cycles running through lower-light periods.

After buying this a year ago, i thought it time to review. Very easy to construct, everything good quality and I like the adjustable drippers. All works with no problems or faults, I would highly recommend. I have come back to the website today to buy another system, I see since a year ago there are a lot more products to choose from.
