Why Use Foggers In A Greenhouse?

Foggers are often chosen in greenhouses to help create a more uniform microclimate. Fine mist can support humidity management, assist with temperature reduction during warmer periods, and spread moisture more evenly across plants than point watering methods in some setups.

Humidity Support

  • Helps maintain consistent humidity
  • Suitable for humidity-loving plants
  • Reduces dry spots in the space

Even Distribution

  • Fine mist reaches across the area
  • Supports plants at varying heights
  • Helps avoid uneven watering

Where It Works Best

Greenhouses

  • Vegetables, seedlings and herbs
  • Helps maintain steady moisture
  • Hands-free daily operation

Plant Beds & Covered Areas

  • Plant beds with sheltered coverage
  • Balcony planters and growing areas
  • Configurable hose routing

Solar Operation Notes

Output varies with sunlight. On brighter days the system can recharge more effectively; during low-light periods performance and recharge may reduce. The battery provides support so the system can continue operating when sunlight is limited.

Installation

Set up the system by mounting the solar panel, connecting the control box near your water supply, then routing the tubing and foggers for even mist coverage across the greenhouse.

Step 1: Mount The Solar Panel

  • Place in strong, direct sunlight
  • Connect via the DC12V input port
  • Angle for the best daily exposure

Step 2: Install The Control Box

  • Mount within 2 m of water level
  • Keep accessible for mode changes
  • Connect inlet and outlet securely

Step 3: Position Water Level Sensor

  • Fit detector near inlet filter point
  • Supports low-water alarm protection
  • Helps prevent pump run-dry issues

Step 4: Connect Tubing & Foggers

  • Attach tubing to the outlet port
  • Insert siphon breaker in main line
  • Use tee joints to feed fogging heads

Step 5: Set Watering Mode

  • Use mode button to choose duration
  • Range: 0.5 minutes up to 8 minutes
  • Test mode confirms mist output

Step 6: Run A System Test

  • Check indicator lights for charging
  • Confirm even mist from all foggers
  • Adjust layout if required

Always refer to the supplied user manual for any manufacturer-specific setup notes before long-term operation.

How It Works

The system uses a solar panel to power the pump and recharge the battery. The control box runs timed fogging cycles, delivering water through the tubing network to the fogging heads across your greenhouse.

Solar Power Supply

  • Runs directly from daylight conditions
  • Recharge output varies with sunlight
  • No mains electricity required

Battery Backup Support

  • Provides operation during lower light
  • Recharges automatically in sunshine
  • Supports consistent timed watering

Timed Fogging Control

  • Adjust cycle duration via mode button
  • 0.5 to 8 minute watering range
  • Test mode confirms correct misting

Water Level Protection

  • Low-water alarm helps protect the pump
  • Sensor monitors inlet supply conditions
  • Designed for reliable daily use

This combination of solar charging, adjustable timing, and water-level safety makes the system a practical solution for automated greenhouse mist irrigation.

What's the difference between this and the drip irrigation kit?

Foggers vs drippers. This kit has 20 foggers that spray a fine mist for greenhouse humidity, seed-tray germination and even coverage at varying plant heights. The drip kit has 50 drippers that deliver water directly to individual plant roots — better for established beds and pots. Same 4W panel, same 7.2V battery, same 0.5-8 minute cycle range; pick by what your plants actually need.

Will the foggers work outside a greenhouse?

Yes — foggers work anywhere you want fine-mist coverage rather than point watering. They suit covered plant beds, balcony planters, tropical or humidity-loving outdoor borders, and propagation areas. In open windy positions the mist will disperse before reaching the plants, so they perform best in sheltered spots — a porch, a polytunnel, or close-planted shaded beds.

How many fogger heads do I need to run at minimum?

You need at least 10 foggers connected for the system to run safely — fewer than that triggers over-pressure protection because the pump runs at 0.4 MPa (60 PSI). The kit ships with 20 foggers, so if you're misting a smaller area, double up heads on each plant or zone rather than capping off unused outlets.

How long do the watering cycles run?

Each cycle runs anywhere from 30 seconds up to 8 minutes — set via the mode button on the control box. Test mode lets you run a quick cycle manually to confirm even mist coverage from all foggers before committing to a daily schedule. The system runs the same chosen cycle every day automatically.

How long can each misting cycle run for?

Each cycle can be set between 0.5 and 8 minutes using the mode button on the control box, and the system runs these cycles automatically on a daily schedule. There's also a test mode so you can confirm even mist output across all 20 foggers before leaving it to run unattended.

How much hose comes with the kit and can I extend it?

The kit includes 8 m of 8 mm main supply hose (split 2 m + 6 m) and 19.5 m of 4 mm branch hose. The supplied tubing is pressure-rated for the pump's 0.4 MPa output — standard low-pressure pond pump tubing is not a suitable extension, so plan your layout around the supplied lengths.
