Overview

A slim 80cm solar bollard for modern paths, entrances and driveways. Its die-cast aluminium body, two tall monocrystalline solar panels and 5000mAh battery combine architectural styling with useful warm-white illumination.

  • Measured 155-lumen warm-white light at approximately 3000K
  • Three operating modes: motion boost, constant light or motion only
  • 80cm rectangular aluminium body with a sand-textured black finish
  • Two 5.5W monocrystalline solar panels and a 5000mAh lithium battery
  • Bolt-down installation for a sound hard surface or concrete pad
  • Slim 15cm-wide profile for an uncluttered look beside paths and entrances

Product Overview

The Marlow stands 80cm high but is only 15cm wide, giving paths, entrances and contemporary landscaping a tall, uncluttered profile. Its die-cast aluminium and glass construction is more substantial than a typical plastic stake light.

✓ Warm-white illumination ✓ PIR motion sensing ✓ Three lighting programmes ✓ Integrated solar panels ✓ 80cm slim profile ✓ Bolt-down installation

A supplier laboratory test measured approximately 155 lumens at 3000K. That makes it a warm-white pathway bollard for orientation and ambience rather than a floodlight.

Adaptable Pathway Lighting

The lighting programme and panel position work together to shape evening performance.

Three useful lighting behaviours

  • Select motion boost with a low background light, constant illumination after dark, or motion-only operation.
  • Motion modes conserve stored energy when a route is used only occasionally.

Two tall solar panels

  • A 5.5W monocrystalline glass panel is fitted to each side of the upper body.
  • Position both faces away from persistent shade so they can make the best use of the available daylight.

Stored Energy & Surface Mounting

The integrated battery supports evening use, while the bolt-down design needs a permanent base.

5000mAh stored energy

  • The internal 3.7V 5000mAh lithium battery is sized for the light's three operating programmes.
  • The manufacturer specifies 10–12 hours from a full charge under suitable conditions.

Permanent surface mounting

  • This is a bolt-down bollard for a sound, level hard surface or suitable concrete pad.
  • It is not supplied as a push-in ground-spike light.

Realistic solar performance

The quoted 4–5 hour charging time assumes good direct sunlight. Actual runtime varies with panel position, shading, season, weather and the selected mode; winter performance will be lower than the full-charge maximum.

What is included

One Marlow solar bollard with its integrated panels and battery, plus two M6 × 60mm expansion bolts.

You will need: a suitable hard mounting base and installation tools. A concrete pad and tools are not included.

Installation guide

  1. Choose a sunny position. Keep both solar-panel faces clear of buildings, trees and dense planting.
  2. Prepare a stable base. Use sound, level paving, masonry or a properly formed concrete pad.
  3. Mark and drill the fixing points. Check for concealed services and use fixings appropriate to the surface.
  4. Secure the bollard evenly. Keep the body vertical and do not overtighten one side of the base.
  5. Select the required mode. Confirm the chosen behaviour after dark or by temporarily covering the solar panels.
  6. Allow a full initial charge. Leave the product in strong daylight before judging its first night's runtime.

Important: use a competent installer if you are uncertain about drilling or the mounting surface.

How the Marlow solar bollard works

During daylight, the two monocrystalline panels charge the internal battery. The light sensor allows the selected programme to operate after dark.

Mode 1: motion boost plus low light

Movement raises the light to full output for approximately 30 seconds before it returns to a lower background level.

Mode 2: constant light

The bollard remains illuminated after dark. Runtime depends more heavily on the previous day's charge in this mode.

Mode 3: motion only

The light remains off until movement is detected, then illuminates for approximately 30 seconds before switching off.

One warm-white colour

The Marlow produces warm-white light at approximately 3000K for a softer appearance beside paths and entrances.

Frequently asked questions

Is it suitable for lawns?

Only when fixed to a suitable hard base or concrete pad. It does not use a ground spike.

How bright is it?

The supplier laboratory test measured approximately 155 lumens. It is intended for path and entrance lighting, not floodlighting.

Will it run for 10–12 hours in winter?

That is the manufacturer's full-charge maximum. UK winter runtime depends on daylight, orientation, shade, weather and operating mode.
