Product Overview

The Luna combines a slim three-section pole with a large 31cm circular light head. The 155-LED head is rated by the supplier at up to 2,000 lumens. At 1.9m overall, it creates a strong visual feature beside driveways, entrances, paths and landscaped seating areas without mains wiring.

Lighting Around Your Garden

Motion detection and a warm white light suit paths, entrances and seating areas.

Detection from either direction

  • Two PIR sensors are arranged around the head.
  • The supplier specifies 360° combined coverage and a 6–7m detection range, helping the light respond as someone approaches from different directions.

Warm white illumination

  • Supplied in warm white (2700–3000K) for a soft, welcoming light without the harshness of cool white.

Operating Modes & Stored Energy

Choose a programme to suit the setting, allowing for the energy collected during the day.

Three programmes

  • Use motion boost with background light, motion-only lighting, or the timed programme that steps the brightness down across the first six hours after dark.

Large solar and battery pairing

  • The integrated 5.5V / 6.5W monocrystalline panel charges an 8000mAh lithium battery.
  • The manufacturer specifies 9–12 hours of operation from a full charge under suitable conditions.

Designed for hard-surface installation

The three pole sections assemble onto a bolt-down base. Choose a sound, level surface or suitable concrete pad that keeps the solar panel away from persistent shade.

Realistic seasonal performance

Charging takes approximately 7–8 hours in good sunlight. Runtime depends on daylight, shading, weather and the programme selected. The six-hour timed programme is a separate setting; the 9–12 hour full-charge rating is not a promise of all-night winter operation.

What is included

One Luna solar lamp head, three pole sections and a bolt-down base. The supplier manual lists three expansion screws and an Allen key.

You will need: a suitable permanent mounting surface and drilling tools.

Installation guide

  1. Select the site. Choose a level position with clear daylight above the round solar panel.
  2. Assemble the three pole sections. Join them securely before fitting the lamp head.
  3. Mark the base holes. Check the lamp-post alignment and verify that no pipes or cables run beneath the drilling points.
  4. Drill and secure the base. Use fixings suitable for the surface and tighten the base evenly.
  5. Fit the head and select the programme. Use the push button on the lamp head to choose one of the three programmes.
  6. Allow a full initial charge. Leave the lamp post in strong daylight before evaluating night-time performance.

Important: the tall form and wind loading require a sound permanent base. Use a competent installer if the surface or fixing method is uncertain.

How the Luna solar lamp post works

The top-mounted panel charges the internal battery during daylight. After dark, the selected programme controls how the lamp responds to time and motion.

Motion boost with background light

When either sensor detects movement, the light brightens for approximately 30 seconds, then returns to a lower level.

Motion-only mode

The lamp remains off when the area is quiet, lights for approximately 30 seconds after movement and then switches off to conserve energy.

Six-hour timed programme

The lamp begins at a higher level and steps down through the first six hours after dark, balancing early-evening illumination with stored energy.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need mains electricity?

No. The solar panel and rechargeable battery are integrated into the lamp head.

Can it be pushed into a lawn?

No. The supplied base is intended for a secure bolt-down installation on a sound hard surface or concrete pad.

Is the maximum runtime guaranteed in winter?

No. The 9–12 hour figure is the manufacturer's full-charge rating. UK winter results vary with daylight, shade, weather and selected mode.
