She has a separate Solar Panel to be able to optimise the performance by placing the panel in to a sunny location

A Battery backup system is also included to ensure a more consistent flow on those partially cloudy days.
The solar panel generates voltage & charges the battery in sunlight. (The energy is stored there if the battery unit is switched off - for use when you want.)
The battery is a controller and runs the pump.
The pump then pushes water through the tubing and out of Freida's mouth back in to your pond.
Additionally
The battery AND pump have variable flow controls on them to adjust the flow of water
The battery also has a basic timer - it will attempt to run 10 mins in every hour when switched on
