Overview
Lights up doorways, drives and garden paths the moment someone moves, with 576 LEDs across a wide-angle head and a built-in solar panel, so there is no wiring.
576 LEDs across the front and both sides
Cool white light
PIR motion sensor: about 120°, up to 3–5 m
Three modes: motion, dim plus motion, or steady
Built-in solar panel and lithium battery
Switches itself on at dusk
IP65 weather resistant for rain and snow
Fixes to a wall with two screws
Our own test unit has run for over two years
Seasonal performance: The steady mode is for spring and summer. In autumn and winter use one of the two motion modes: the light then saves its charge for when someone is actually there. How long it runs also depends on where it is fitted: from autumn the panel must face south and be completely out of shade all day; in a shaded, east-, west- or north-facing spot expect short run times or none.
A compact solar wall light that is far brighter than its size suggests. 576 LEDs wrap around the front and both sides of the head, so it lights the area in front of the wall and to either side. The panel on top charges the battery by day, and the motion sensor switches it to full brightness when someone walks up.

Bright, Wire-Free Outdoor Lighting
Put it where you need light when you get home: the front door, the side gate, the drive or the shed.
Motion Sensor
PIR sensor picks up movement across about 120°, from around 3 to 5 m away.
Comes on at full brightness, then switches off around 20 to 30 seconds after the last movement.
Three Modes
Motion only: off until someone moves.
Dim plus motion: a low glow all night, full brightness on movement.
Steady: on all night (best kept for spring and summer).
Wide-Angle Head
576 LEDs on the front and both sides.
Lights the path in front and the area either side of the wall.
Solar Powered
Built-in solar panel on top of the light.
Rechargeable lithium battery; about 8 hours of direct sun for a full charge.
Switches on at dusk and off at dawn by itself.
Built to Last
IP65 rated against rain and snow.
We have had one of these on our own wall for over two years: still bright, still working, and the lens has not discoloured.
Where to Use It
Front and back doors
Drives, gates and side passages
Garages, sheds and garden walls
Common Questions
How long does it stay on after it spots movement?
Around 20 to 30 seconds after the last movement. It then goes back to off (motion only) or to its lower light (dim plus motion).
Does it work in autumn and winter?
Use one of the two motion modes from autumn: they save the charge for when someone is actually there. The panel needs to face south with full sun and no shade all day, and running times are shorter after dull days. Steady mode is for spring and summer.
How high should I fit it?
We recommend 2 to 4 metres. Ours has been on the wall at about 1.5 metres for over two years and still works well.
Do I need an electrician?
No. There is no wiring: switch it on, leave it in sunshine for about 8 hours, then fix it to the wall with two screws.
How can I check it works in daylight?
It only lights up in the dark. Cover the solar panel with your hand or a cloth and walk in front of the sensor.
Switch the light on and leave it in direct sunshine for about 8 hours before fitting, so the battery starts full.
2. Choose the Wall
Pick a wall that gets full sun for as much of the day as possible. From autumn to early spring a south-facing wall with no shade from trees, fences or eaves is essential.
3. Mark and Drill
Hold the light in place, mark the two fixing holes and drill them. Use wall plugs in brick or block.
4. Fix the Light
Screw the light to the wall with the solar panel facing up towards the sky and the motion sensor pointing at the area you want to light.
5. Choose a Mode
Press the mode button to choose motion only, dim plus motion, or steady. In autumn and winter use one of the motion modes.
6. Test It
It only lights in the dark. To test in daylight, cover the solar panel with your hand or a cloth and walk in front of the sensor.
A solar panel, a lithium battery, a dusk sensor and a PIR motion sensor work together, with no wiring and no running costs.
Daytime Charging
The panel on top turns daylight into power and stores it in the battery. Direct, unshaded sun charges it fully in about 8 hours; dull days give a partial charge.
Dusk to Dawn
A light sensor switches the light on when it gets dark and off again at dawn, so it never wastes charge in daylight.
Motion Detection
The PIR sensor picks up the body heat of a person moving across about 120°, from around 3 to 5 m away.
Three Modes
Motion only stays dark until someone moves; dim plus motion keeps a low glow and goes bright on movement; steady stays on all night.
Autumn and Winter
Use a motion mode in the shorter, duller months: the light saves its charge for when someone is actually there.
Weatherproofing
The IP65 housing keeps out rain and snow. It is made for walls, not for standing water.
