Good to know: This is a solar-direct unit – it bubbles whenever the sun is on the panel. There is no battery and no on/off switch, so it operates during daylight hours. If you need round-the-clock aeration through cloud and after dark, take a look at our battery-backed floating aerator instead.
An efficient brushless DC motor sits inside the float, powered directly by the integrated solar panel – there is no battery and no switch. Whenever sunlight strikes the panel the pump runs: it draws air in through gaps at the edge of the panel and pushes it down the hose to the air stone, where it breaks into a stream of fine bubbles that oxygenate the water.
Output naturally rises and falls with the strength and angle of the sunlight, so you will see the strongest bubbling in bright midday sun. Because it runs solar-direct, it is completely free to run and matches aeration to the warm, sunny conditions when your pond needs oxygen the most.
