Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your Kingsbury solar fountain quickly and securely.

• Secure the main bowl to the pedestal and twist to lock in place.
• Feed the pump cable through the bowl and pedestal.
• Attach the finial to the top tier and lock in place.
• Connect the tube from the finial to the pump.

Connection and Setup

Ensure all connections are secure and watertight for optimal performance.

• Attach the top assembly to the main bowl. Ensure the pump is at the bottom of the bowl.
• Fill the main bowl with clean water.
• Assemble the solar panel by attaching the post and spike.
• Connect the solar panel to the pump, ensuring all connections are watertight.
  For best results, position the solar panel in a location that receives maximum direct sunlight for most of the day – avoid any shade or obstruction. Even partial shade, such as from trees, fences, or buildings, can dramatically reduce performance.
• The position and angle of your solar panel are crucial. If the panel is shaded for even part of the day, or is not facing the sun, the fountain will not run effectively or at all.
• Please note: Solar fountains rely on sunlight to work. Even units with battery backup still require sunlight to charge. On bright, sunny days (even with light cloud), performance will be strong. If it is heavily overcast—even in summer—solar power output drops significantly, and you should not expect your fountain to run, or it may stop frequently. This is normal and a limitation of solar technology in the UK climate.

Maintenance Tips

Keep your fountain in top condition with these maintenance tips.

• Regularly clean the solar panels with water or glass cleaner and a non-abrasive sponge to prevent dust, pollen, or dirt from reducing performance.
• Check and adjust the angle of the solar panel frequently to ensure it’s always facing the sun and is not shaded – this is essential for proper charging and best battery performance.
• Store the fountain indoors during cold weather to avoid frost damage.
• Ensure connectors are watertight to prevent leaks or damage.

Troubleshooting

Follow these steps if your fountain isn't functioning properly.

• Ensure the fountain and solar panel are placed in direct sunlight, not shaded. The fountain relies on adequate sunlight to charge its battery backup.
• Check the water level and confirm the pump is fully submerged.
• Inspect the connections between the pump, solar panel, and battery.
• If weather is heavily overcast, performance will naturally drop or stop. This does not mean your system is faulty—simply wait for brighter conditions.
• Contact customer services if the issue persists.
