Are You Ready for New Year's Eve?
It might only seem like 5 minutes ago that we were gearing up for 2012, well now the New Year is just days away! What plans do you have for the New Year? If you're planning a party then you need to make sure your house is ready for all your guests! If you want to see 2013 in in style and impress your guests than check out these top tips for planning your party:
When it comes to choosing your food for your New Year's Party it's all about the nibbles. Buffets are always best for New Year's Eve, people want to mingle, catch up with friend's and move around the room. Don't tie your guests to a table with a sit down meal, lay out some food in the kitchen and let everyone help themselves. Party food, crisps, dips, sausages on sticks, cupcakes and a variety of desserts are always a winner.
When it comes to the drinks you need a varied selection, of course you need a mixture of red and white wine, but don't forget the soft drinks for those who don't want to drink. If your budget will allow you could make a punch or even have a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Champagne is always great to toast with at New Year but Prosecco also makes a great and cheaper alternative. When you invite your guests ask them to bring a bottle or two along of their favourite tipple to spread the cost.
This is perhaps the most fun part of planning a party, giving your home that party look! If your Christmas tree and decorations are still up, leave them where they are and keep your guests in a festive mood. Fairy lights are a must have for any party so make sure you have some wrapped round your staircase or in your garden so everyone knows where the party's at! Get a few novelty items like charms for the wine glasses and party poppers for midnight.
